Packaging Lies Come Back to Bite

“Packaging Lies Come Back to Bite.”

Meena makes homemade pickles in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. Her mango pickle is excellent. But she started printing on labels:

“NO PRESERVATIVES. 6 MONTHS SHELF LIFE.”

Reality?

Pickle started smelling off in 2.5 months if not refrigerated.

Customers didn’t complain loudly.

They just didn’t reorder.

Later, Meena changed just one line on the label:

“No chemical preservatives.

Best consumed within 60 days after opening.

Refrigeration recommended.”

Orders slowly returned.

Lesson (simple, usable):

Truth may sound less impressive,

but lies travel faster than taste.

👉 Try this yourself:

Write labels like you’re talking to a neighbour, not a salesman.
