Shrinking Stomachs: Are Our Genes Adapting to Smaller Meals?
Fun Facts
Over 50,000 years of human evolution, our meal sizes have definitely gotten smaller, from hunter-gatherer’s big feasts to today's more controlled portions. Hunter-gatherers were eating a hefty 500-800 grams per meal, feasting when food was available. In the Agricultural Era, meals became more regular but often smaller, around 400-600 grams with more grains. The Industrial and Modern Eras is seeing meals fluctuate from 250-700 grams.
Time Pass
Our stomachs might be getting smarter (or smaller!) over millennia! Looks like evolution is still cooking up changes! 🧬🍔
