Happiness Index

Negative narratives are being built around Farmers and Agriculture, not only in India but internationally also. A very bleak future is being predicted for agriculture and more so in the light of climatic scare being talked all around. Media mostly highlights the plights and miseries. Considering the need for truth “Hello Kisan Forum” is continuously engaged in carrying out studies to assess the satisfaction and happiness among the farmers. For this purpose a special IT Enabled Survey Tool has also been developed. In the studies encompassing over 10000 farmers from 19 States it has been observed that the reality is quite different. The study so far has revealed that over 70 percent farmers are happy with their present status to the extent of 90 percent or above. 22 percent farmers are satisfied to the extent of 50 percent and rest are happy to the extent of less then 20 percent.

Agriculture
Resource Index

The outputs in agriculture are dependent on resources deployed. For long only physical and financial resources have been assumed to have the influence on outcomes. In modern world this is changing very fast. Now Technology, Knowledge, Networks combined with Natural Resources like climate has the potential to make significant impacts on outcomes. “Hello Kisan Forum” recognising this has initiated an exercise to map farmers on the basis of their resource endowment on all the above parameters.
